Shrouded in secrecy during its production on a closed set, there was already considerable hype for this movie before its release, which received mixed reviews when it opened. Definitely worth a look if only to imagine just how much more was cut out of the film than was included. When two trains crash in Russia, causing the nuclear weapons on board one of them to explode the US government are suspicious that the accident is a cover up for theft of the remaining weapons. Col Tom Devoe ( George Clooney ) and successfully stop the transfer of the weapons over the Iranian border but one warhead is still missing and has fallen into the hands of terrorist planning on blowing up Manhattan. Although penniless, she is soon admired as marriage material by several eligible men and even refuses one marriage proposal from Lord Warburton ( Richard E. Grant ). Suddenly inheriting a fortune from the death of her cousin, Isabel finds she is not bound to marry and sets out to travel Europe where she meets and falls in love with the unsuitable Gilbert ( John Malcovich ), a match she soon lives to regret. Batman Forever In part 3 of the Batman movies, Nicole plays the love interest Chase Meridian, a sexy psychologist trying to analyse Batman (this time around played by Val Kilmer ). Batman and sidekick Robin ( Chris O’Donnell ) must rise to the challenge of two rivals: Two Face ( Tommy Lee Jones ), the ex district attourney sent mad when badly disfigured by acid, and The Riddler ( Jim Carey ), an ex Wayne industries employee disgruntled by being fired who uses his brain wave device to transform himself. To Die For New Hampshire desperate fame seeker Suzanne ( Nicole Kidman ) struggles with her TV bosses to become a TV anchorwoman and will do anything to succeed, including getting rid of her once gorgeous husband Larry. Enlisting the help of some local high school students for a documentary she is making, she convinces one of them Jimmy ( Joaquin Pheonix ) that he should help her get rid of Larry once and for all, and it’s all goes according to plan until Larry’s sister starts to become suspicious. Malice Andy ( Bill Pullman ) and Tracy ( Nicole Kidman ) are trying to renovate their large Victorian house and need some cash so when Andy’s school friend and now hot shot doctor Jed ( Alec Baldwin ) shows up needing a place to stay they kindly oblige. Whilst Andy is busy trying to assist with an investigation into a serial rapist at the college where he is Dean, Tracy collapses and must be operated on by Jed who has been out drinking and partying, leaving her unable to bear children. A malpractice suit follows and a lot more we learn that the fate of the three of them is more closely linked that we first thought. Days of Thunder Apparently Tom Cruise requested Nicole to play alongside him in this film after seeing her in Dead Calm . The film has the same production team and male lead as Top Gun and there are definitely similarities. The hot headed lead Cole Trickle (Cruise) is a stock car racing driver with lots of raw talent but no way to channel it. After a serious accident he meets and falls for brain specialist Claire Lewicki (Nicole Kidman) who nurses him back to health only to see him go back out on the track and face the most evil of drivers around who desperately wants to beat Cole and put him out of action permanently. Dead Calm A young couple decide to go on a yachting trip to the Pacific to get over the death of their son. Whilst sailing they find a wrecked schooner with one survivor Hughie ( Billy Zane ) who’s story doesn’t quite add up. Husband John ( Sam O’Neill ) becomes suspicious and boards the schooner to discover the terrible truth. Hughie then kidnaps John’s wife Rae ( Kidman ) and the yacht, leaving John to sink with the wrecked schooner, and Rae to try and save herself and her husband.
