The surface is a mix of tarmac and gravel paths, and is mostly traffic free. Route Guide : 1) Kingston Bridge is a road bridge carrying traffic into the town centre so take care when making your way down to the riverside on the south side of the Bridge. Take the cycle path in the direction of Hampton Court . 2) Follow the riverside path past Hampton Court , and enjoy the views of Britain 's greatest palace and its waterside gardens. 3) At Hampton Court Bridge , cross the river using the cycle path on the pavement and turn right to rejoin the riverside path. 4) Cycle the remaining six miles to Weybridge. You'll pass through Sunbury Lock en route. Once you're there, there's a choice of pubs on either side of the river. A ferry operates here, shuttling people to and fro. If you don't want to cycle back to Kingston , the nearest railway stations are Weybridge (about one and a half miles away on the south side) or Shepperton (a similar distance on the north side).
